Another day, another park. This time we ventured out to Smedley, a park I hadn't visited in many years.
Just beyond that bridge, a trail begins. Somewhere along the trail is a tree with my initials carved into it, although the letters must be well worn now, smooth and flattened, since it was ten years ago since I last walked it. We didn't venture out to find my tree though, it was too muddy for us to attempt in our flip flops.
It was kind of a bust as far as parks go, no baby swings and many huge puddles of standing water swarming with gnats and mosquitoes. We'll have to cross this one off the list.
We've been going out so much during the day, really enjoying open spaces and sunshine. It's hard to believe that we've been back in Pennsylvania for almost 10 weeks now. I am loving it, loving every minute of it just like I knew that I would. The days are for fun, the nights are for me. I am a night owl by nature so I find myself staying up late, alone with my thoughts and music in my ears. It's so nice.
I realized last week that I have been keeping this blog for a whole year. I started it as a way to share with family since we were moving overseas and I'm so glad I did. I love looking back over Francie's first year and seeing how much she's grown. This blog definitely became a form of entertainment for me as well and at some points I got caught up in thinking that I needed to do certain things with it. At the end of the day, it's just for fun and it's for us.
I love that I have "met" people through this space, and I'm glad for that. It's a nice little plus. For those who are reading- family, friends, and anyone else- thank you :)
